Bath & North East Somerset Council - LGBT History month

LGBT History month

LGBT history is celebrated each year in February.  It is an opportunity for all of us to learn more about the histories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the UK.

Because the lives and achievements of LGBT people have so often been hidden, it has been easy for others to stereotype and distort the reality of what it means to live as a gay or lesbian person.  By presenting an honest appraisal of LGBT lives, LGBT history month seeks to replace ignorance with knowledge and understanding.  Ultimately, it's an opportunity for remembrance, celebration, debate and discussion around the continued struggle for LGBT equality

Further details of LGBT history month can be found at: http://www.lgbthistorymonth.org.uk/;
