Bereavement Services provides burial and cremation services to the residents of Bath and North East Somerset, including managing the council's statutory duty to maintain closed cemeteries and churchyards.

 

Results taken from surveys carried out during 2010

We aim to:-

  

Ensure that our customers are satisfied with the services we provide (Target 83%)

84% of our customers agree that their memorials are satisfactory.

 

We will ensure that all our staff are polite and courteous at all times (Target 100%)

98% of public buying memorials find cemetery staff polite and helpful.

95% of public buying memorials find office staff helpful.

 

Respond to complaints within 5 working days and reply to letters within 15 working days. (Target 95%)

97% of letters have been responded to within 15 working days.

 

Improve our score against the set standards of the Charter for the Bereaved. (Target 95%)

Overall score has improved year on year and combined total for both burial and cremation is currently 97%.

 

Open Haycombe Cemetery gates and Books of Remembrance on every day of the year. (Target 100%)

100% Cemetery gates are opened every day.

100% Books of Remembrance opened every day.

 

Ensure all memorials are safe by completing required annual number of inspections in memorial safety programme. (Target 100%)

Perimeter tests performed on 100% of new graves.

Perimeter tests performed on 100% of re-opened graves.
