We work closely with all our partners within Bath and North East Somerset Community Safety Partnership to ensure that local residents and visitors alike are able to safely enjoy the wide range of night-time entertainment available within Bath.
The impact of the night-time economy on residents, particularly within our city and town centres, has a significant impact on local quality of life. There are a number of exisiting initatives in place to improve Bath city centre's "Evening Economy".

A look at how Bath’s streets are being made better at night
Efforts to make Bath a safer place at night have won the city national aclaim. It is one of only five places in the country to be awarded a new gold standard seal of approval for tackling late-night crime and providing good entertainment. The accolade was presented after a visit to the city by a team of inspectors, with Bath and North East Somerset Council working with Avon and Somerset Police on the award application.
There are 88 cameras operated with 32 in Bath city centre and 20 others split between Charlotte Street, Avon Street, and Riverside car and coach parks. In 2010 (January-December) the CCTV Control Room logged 3164 incidents resulting in 463 arrests. In this time there were 1033 requests to view recorded footage of which 813 copies were made as evidential material.
