Bath & North East Somerset Council - Triple P tip sheets

Triple P tip sheets

Because children don't come with instructions!

Being a parent is very rewarding, but it can also be challenging at times.  During each stage of a child's life there may be difficulties that have to be faced.  Nobody is ever trained to be a parent, and nobody is a perfect parent!

Triple P tip sheets from the Positive Parenting Program® are backed by over 25 years of  research. They contain clear, easy to implement tips that help solve current parenting problems and prevent future problems before they arise.  The full range of tip sheets are now available FREE OF CHARGE from the Family Information Service.

Triple P suggests simple routines and small changes that can make a big difference to your family. It helps you understand the way your family works and uses the things you already say, think, feel and do in new ways that:

  • Create a stable, supportive and harmonious family
  • Encourage behaviour you like
  • Deal positively, consistently and decisively with problem behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with your children, so that conflict can be resolved
  • Plan ahead to avoid or manage potentially difficult situations
  • Take care of yourself as a parent

The tip sheets cover the following age ranges:

  • Infant
  • Toddler
  • Pre-school
  • Primary age
  • Teenage
