Parents and carers can access childcare out of school hours through Breakfast Clubs, After School Clubs and Holiday Play schemes. These services can be based directly on school sites or in other community venues in the area. They vary in cost and fees may be reduced for families on low incomes or siblings of children already attending the club. If you are a working parent or carer, and you are paying more than £10 per week for childcare, you may be eligible for the childcare element of Working Tax Credit. Out of school clubs and holiday playschemes offer a wide range of activities for children and a quiet area if the children just wish to relax. Most clubs have an outside play area. In addition holiday playschemes may offer trips and outings.
