The Policy and Partnerships Service works with other local agencies to deliver a range of projects and services. Within the Service are the teams responsible for:
Partnership Delivery
This team works in partnership with organisations to deliver projects and make improvements to local communities. Their work relates to the ‘Safer and Stronger’ theme of both the Sustainable Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement.
The ‘Safer Communities’ team supports and develops our Community Safety Partnership, which brings together the Council, Police, Fire, Probation Service and Somer Housing Trust to implement our Community Safety Plan.
The ‘Stronger Communities’ team works with a variety of organisations including local Town and Parish Councils, businesses, the voluntary sector and community groups to help address local issues. They also help communities to address their own issues by providing direct support for Community and Parish Planning, as well as by commissioning specific services and promoting volunteering.
The work of the team is split into three geographic areas:-
Bath and Environs
Keynsham and the Chew Valley
The Somer Valley (Norton Radstock and surrounds)

Staff within the Stronger team are also responsible for the Council’s Christmas Lights' Contract
Partnership Development and Support
This team is responsible for the work of the Local Strategic Partnership and the development of the Corporate Plan
It also undertakes Research and Intelligence – commissioning and conducting research projects in order to inform and facilitiate intelligent decision making
The team also delivers Funding and Programmes - commissioning services and managing small grants programmes that relate to the service’s priority outcomes.
