Waste collection times: why should you care?
To keep our streets clean, attractive and safe for residents and visitors, commercial waste can only be placed on the street for collection on the right day and at the right time. Our policy is that no trade waste should be on the public highway, except for collection between the hours of 17:00 and 21:00, Monday to Friday.
If you’re caught putting waste out on a public street or pavement on the wrong day or time, you’ll be issued with fine of £75.
Non-payment can lead to a further fine of up to £2,500 following a summary conviction. Read more about our policy on enforcement action for litter.
Your commercial waste contractor must be made aware of these arrangements to tailor its collections to fit in. If it is unable to comply, you must make alternative collection arrangements.
