Challenging families to get out of their cars, step away from
the TV and get on their bikes.
Cycling events
A national celebration of freedom, Bike Week is an annual
opportunity to promote cycling and demonstrate the social, health,
and environmental benefits of cycling, not to mention the sheer
convenience of the bike.
Bike Week 2008 will take place from 14th – 22nd June and is this
year challenging families to get out of their cars, step away from
the TV and get on their bikes. ‘Free the Family’ and rediscover how
much fun you can have together on a bike.
Thousands of free cycling events will provide plenty of
opportunities for people to get on their bikes. This year there
will be something for everyone from total novices to passionate
cyclists.
Bike Breakfast cycle event
Bike2work breakfasts for people who cycle to commute will be
offered in Bath, Keynsham and Radstock on the Wednesday 18th
June.
Family cycle treasure hunts
Family cycle treasure hunts are also proposed in Radstock on the
Colliers Way and on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path. The Bristol
and Bath Railway Path treasure hunt will be a joint authority event
with South Gloucestershire.
