Bath & North East Somerset Council - Cardboard and Plastics summary

Cardboard and Plastics summary

Image of mixed plastics

From 30 November we will be collecting cardboard weekly for recycling and we will also start collecting a wider range of plastics.

By the end of November, you should have received a blue bag to put your cardboard in.  This will be collected weekly by the recycling crew to be made into cardboard packaging.  Please flatten your cardboard to no more than 45cm so that we can fit it into the vehicle.

From this date we will stop collecting cardboard with the garden waste as we will no longer be able to compost it.

We will also collect plastic packaging used to contain food and drinks.  This includes tubs, trays, pots and bottles.  You can mix these with the cans as we will use a magnet to separate them.  Please make sure your plastic is clean and flattened before putting it out.  The plastic will be recycled into a range of products including park benches and fleeces.
