Cycling

CycleTrackandRiver

Introduction

Cycling helps you lead a healthy, environmentally-friendly lifestyle. It can be a fast way to get to work, and a fun weekend activity. Cycling has a key role to play in cutting congestion on our roads. Bath & North East Somerset is actively working on improving facilities and conditions for cyclists to encourage people to cycle more.

Cycle Leaflets / Maps

Maps for the Avon Cycleway and The Bristol & Bath Railway Path are available, free of charge, from local libraries and most Council Offices.

We have a popular map for cyclists (pictured below) which covers the whole area. These are also available free of charge from local libraries and most Council Offices.

We also have similar maps covering Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

New Cycle Map

Two Tunnels Project

A campaign to win a portion of £50 million of Lottery funding to create new cycle routes in Bath has been successful.

It was revealed in December 2007 that the Two Tunnels project will be awarded £1m, thanks to the votes of local people.
