The Partnership aims to provide a forum for the variety of
stakeholders and other interested parties who can participate in
the development of quality rail services that are matched to local
community needs. As well as the train operators, Network Rail and
the local authorities, the Partnership will be working with
community organisations, businesses, development and tourism
agencies to identify and implement measures that encourage the use
of rail services.

What has been achieved by the Partnership?
The Severnside Community Rail Partnership was formed in the
summer of 2004 and is unique in that it covers a
wide geographical area that includes both urban and rural
localities, served by a network of routes. The emphasis of the
partnership has been on quick wins and practical initiatives that
benefit passengers and can be delivered quickly. The Partnership
has already secured more local train services, providing better
station information through simplified departure posters, and begun
the work of involving local communities. For a comprehensive report
of the Partnership's achievements to
date, please see the Summer 2005 Progress

an initiative by the former Rail Passengers Committee for Western
England. As well as the train operators, Network Rail
and the local authorities, the Partnership is working with
