Bus Passes

Diamond Travelcard: Free off-peak bus travel for older people and those with disabilities who live in Bath & North East Somerset

Please note that national age eligibility rules for bus passes have changed.  If you already have a travelcard, you don't need to do anything.  If you are about to apply for a travelcard and you were born before 6th April 1950, you became eligible on your 60th birthday.  If you were born on or after that date, you will need to check.  Please read the FAQs under ‘Related Documents’ on the top right hand side of this page, use the Directgov age calculator or phone Council Connect on 01225 39 40 41.

While-You-Wait Diamond Travelcard!

We offer a while-you-wait service at Council Connect Offices in Bath, Keynsham and Midsomer Norton for residents entitled to Diamond Travelcards.

  • Eligible residents can visit the Guildhall in Bath, Riverside in Keynsham or the Hollies in Midsomer Norton to collect their card.
  • There is no need to complete an application form. All you need is evidence of eligibility and proof of residence in Bath and North East Somerset.
  • A Council Connect team member will check the information you provide and take your photograph at no cost. Your card will be printed while you wait.
  • This service also applies to lost or stolen cards, as we will be able to confirm the status of your card and issue a replacement.
  • Please note that there will be a non-refundable charge for replacing lost cards.
  • If you are reporting a stolen card, you will need to give us the crime reference number that the Police gave you.
  • If you are unable to visit one of the Council Connect Offices to have your photograph taken, please complete the application form under ‘Related Documents’ on the top right hand side of this page and send the form in to us with a photograph and the information required.
  • For further information about Diamond Travelcards and advice about the proof of eligibility and residence that we need, please access our 'Diamond Travelcard FAQs' under 'Related Documents' at the top right hand side of this page.
