Notice to bus passengers – Closure of B3130 (Belluton Narrows)
due to Bristol Water works from Monday 6th February 2006 for an
anticipated period of 10 weeks
From Monday 6th February 2006 for an anticipated period
of 10 weeks the section of the B3130 between its junction
with the A37 and Stanton Drew Roundhouse will be closed to all
traffic due to Bristol Water water mains works. The following bus
services will therefore be affected:
645 Keynsham - Street,
Saturdays, Abus

Abus
752 Bishop Sutton – Bath, Wednesdays,
Bath & North East Somerset
During the period the work takes place, the above bus services
will not be able to serve the normal route along the
B3130. Services will therefore be diverted as follows:
Coming from Keynsham to Street, Service 645
will follow the normal route until the junction of the A37 with the
B3130. From this point the bus will divert via Pensford, Chelwood
roundabout, Stanton Wick Turn, Moorledge Lane, rejoining the normal
route at Chew Magna. The service will therefore not serve any bus
stops on the B3130 between the junction with A37 and Chew Magna
Post Office. Reverse direction same
diversion.
Coming from Keynsham to Wells, Service 683 will
follow the normal route until the junction of the A37 with the
B3130. From this point the bus will divert via Pensford, Chelwood
roundabout, and then follow the A368 direct to West Harptree at
which point the service will rejoin the regular route. The service
will therefore not serve any bus stops on the normal route between
Pensford and Compton Martin. Reverse direction same
diversion.
Coming from Bishop Sutton to Bath, Service 752
will follow the normal route until Stanton Drew roundhouse. From
this point the bus will divert via Stanton Drew, Stanton Wick,
Chelwood roundabout, Pensford village, back to Chelwood roundabout
at which point the service will rejoin the regular route. The
service will therefore not serve any bus stops on the normal route
between Stanton Drew roundhouse and Pensford Village Centre.
Reverse direction same diversion.
As soon as the B3130 is re-opened to traffic, all bus services
will return to their regular routes. We apologise for any
inconvenience caused.

North East Somerset Council Public Transport team on 01225

Closure of the A37 at Chewton Mendip – implications for bus
services
Please be advised that a section of the A37 just south of
Chewton Mendip, Somerset will be closed to all traffic from Monday
13th February 2006 for an anticipated period of 12 weeks.
All bus services that use the A37 south of Chewton Mendip will
be subject to a diversion. This includes services 375 and 376.
However, for the entire route within Bath & North East
Somerset, these bus services will be operating to the regular
route. The diversion is south of Farrington Gurney in Somerset
county only.
First Group will be attempting to operate to the regular
timetable, but passengers should be aware that services may be
delayed slightly. For any operational queries passengers are
advised to contact First Group at their Wells depot on 01749
677774.
Notice to Passengers – Temporary Closure of Midford Road for
Citybound/Westbound Traffic only
Commencing Wednesday 22nd February 2006 for an
anticipated period of 4 weeks, the section of Midford
Road that lies between the Tesco garage roundabout and
Wellsway will be closed to all Citybound/Westbound
traffic due to sewer construction works that are taking place. The
following bus services will be affected:
13, 20A, 20C, 267, 767
During the period that the work takes place the above
Citybound/Westbound bus services
will not serve this section of Midford Road and
will divert as follows:
Citybound/Westbound buses will travel along Frome Road to the
Red Lion roundabout and then turn right down the Wellsway and carry
on down to Bear Flat and Bath City Centre as usual.
Citybound/Westbound buses only will divert.
Outbound/Eastbound buses will use Midford Road as
normal.
A temporary bus stop will be in position on Frome Road just past
the Tesco garage
for Citybound/Westbound journeys only. We
therefore advise passengers to catch Citybound/Westbound buses from
this stop whilst Midford Road is closed to
Citybound/Westbound traffic. We apologise for any inconvenience
caused.
Notice to bus passengers - closure of Northgate Street to
southbound traffic
On Monday 27th February 2006 from 7pm to Midnight the
section of Northgate Street that extends from a point 115 metres
south of its junction with Saracen Street for a distance of 14
metres in a southerly direction will be closed to all southbound
traffic due to high voltage cable works. This closure will only
affect vehicles travelling in a southerly direction from Walcot
Street to Northgate Street. Northbound traffic will be unaffected
by the closure, and southbound traffic accessing Northgate Street
via New Bond Street will also be unaffected.
As a result of the closure, the only bus services that will be
affected are those services that travel in a southerly direction
down Walcot Street into Northgate Street towards the City Centre
and the Bus Station. These bus services can be summarised as
follows:
6, 706, 13, 713, 232, X72 – direction southbound/inbound
only
These southbound buses will not serve any stops on Walcot Street
between 7pm and Midnight on Monday 27th February 2006. Instead of
serving Walcot Street, these buses will divert from London Road via
Roman Road, George Street, Milsom Street and New Bond Street before
rejoining the normal route at the bottom half of Northgate
Street.
Direction northbound/inbound
In this direction of travel all bus services are unaffected by
the road closure, and will serve the normal routes along Northgate
Street, Broad Street and Walcot Street.
Notice to Bus Passengers - Until further notice Service 778
will not serve Dunkerton Hill, Ashgrove, and Bath Road in Peasedown
village after 21:00 hours in the evening
Please be advised that until further notice bus service 778 will
not serve the normal route in Peasedown village along Dunkerton
Hill, Ashgrove, and Bath Road after 21:00 hours in the evening.
Service 778 will instead divert along the bypass (A367) and Orchard
Way.
The reason for the change is because of a spate of recent
incidents in which stones have been thrown at buses passing through
Peasedown in the late evening. The bus company First have kept the
Police informed, in line with agreed procedures, but the attacks
have continued. First are very concerned that serious injury may
occur to bus passengers and their staff, and have therefore
regretfully made the decision to divert the buses away from the
village in the late evenings until the problem is resolved.
While the diversion in the late evenings is in place, passengers
are advised to use the bus stops in Orchard Way rather than the bus
stops on Dunkerton Hill, Ashgrove, and Bath Road.
