A36 Limpley Stoke Closure - Public Transport and Alternative Travel Information

Latest News: All road works completed and buses resumed normal routes from Saturday 21st June 2008 

Overview of road works

The A36 near Limpley Stoke is to have extensive remedial works undertaken at two locations from April 2008: at Monkton Combe (at the junction of the B3108) and at Limpley Stoke (near the junction with Waterhouse Lane).  The works involve major slope stabilisation, partial carriageway reconstruction, retaining wall stabilisation and footway resurfacing.

This road is not the responsibility of this authority. The works are being undertaken by InterRoute working for the Highways Agency.

The works are expected to start from April 2008 and last for up to 12 weeks.  During the works the A36 will be closed to through traffic which will have to use alternative routes.

Changes to Bus Services during the A36 Road Closure Period

The services 94, 264 & 265 services resumed their normal routes and timetables on Sunday 25th May 2008 and the shuttlebus services ceased operation on the same day.

Travelling By Train

Why not leave the car at home and travel by train to and from Bath during the A36 Limpley Stoke road closure period?
