Bath Intergrated Transport and Heritage Package

Synopsis

The Bath Integrated Transport and Heritage Package proposals (ITH), represent an extension to the Local Transport Plan strategy. Changes in the local transport situation have meant that important alterations to the original LTP need to be introduced. It is intended that at the next opportunity for review the BITH will make certain changes to the strategy.

The BITH is specifically directed towards addressing the problems faced by the Bath World Heritage Site (WHS) with a particular emphasis upon the protection of the City centre from the impact of traffic but also concerned with improving access from the north east and the south east into the city.

The submission reflects the desire of the council to act as a good steward for the unique built environment of Bath whilst accepting that the City centre will remain the focus of employment and retailing for the population of Bath & Nort East Somerset and beyond.
