PUBLIC TOILETS

Public Toilet Consultation - Locally Derived Standards for a Provision Strategy

A Public Consultation was carried out between November 2009 and February 2010 seeking views on where and how many toilets are required for residents and visitors, along with who should provide and management them and what they should be like.  the results will be reported back to the Safer & Stronger Communities Overview & Scrutiny Panel in March 2010.

Location of 'Council-Run' Public Toilets

The pages in the left-hand column list the public toilets by area.  Atlernatively follow the link 'Location of Public Conveniences' under 'Related Information' to the right.  This will direct you to the Council's mapping information.  You can click on the 'Find my Nearest' link.

REPORTING PROBLEMS

If you wish to report any problem with a Public Toilet, please contact Council Connect on 01225 394041 or email council_connect@bathnes.gov.uk.

Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Compliance

Many of the Council Public Toilets have been upgraded to be fully accessible and this is noted in the list of toilets in the links on the left of this page.  We are looking to ensure that in due course all locations will have the disabled unit upgraded to be fully accessible, as well as having 'ambulant' cubicles installed (which means compliant door fittings, grab rails and sensor flushes, in one of the cubicles in each Ladies and Gents sections).  Any works to be carried out will be notified in advance on this webpage and by notices at the toilet location.

Southgate Development (www.southgatebath.com)

The next phase of the shopping centre development will be in May 2010 and will include a suite of new public toilet facilities int he Central Plaza area.  A further set of public toilets will follow in the Railway Valuts area during 2011.

The nearest public facilities are located in the newly developed Bus Station located in Dorchester Street or the Riverside Coach Park facilities in Avon Street.

The map, which can be found under 'Related Documents' on the right hand side of the page, shows where all the public toilets are in the city centre and their opening times.  Please note that the toilets inside Lewis House on Manvers Street are available for public use during office hours (Mon, Tues & Thurs 08:30 - 17:00, Wed 09:30 - 17:00 and Fri 08:30 - 16:30).
