Refurbishment and strengthening of grade 2 listed Highway Bridge

Start:  24^th October  2005

Anticipated finish  16^th December 2005

Duration of Works: 8 weeks

Nature of Works: 

The works involve the replacement  of stonework and reinforcement of the stone arch bridge to reinstate the integrity of the structure.Following the works the existing 3 t limit will be removed.

Reason for Works:

The existing structure in its present condition cannot take highway loading and is currently propped to ensure that the structure does not collapse.The propping is temporary and requires a permanent solution.

Traffic Restrictions:

The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic throughout the works though pedestrian access will be maintained.
