Noxious Weeds

The control and treatment of noxious weeds is the responsibility of the Highway Authority where they occur on the highway (not on private land).

Noxious weeds include:

  • Broad-leaved Dock (Rumex obtusifolius)
  • Common Ragwort - (Senecio jacobaea)
  • Creeping Thistle (Cirsium arvense)
  • Curled Dock (Rumex crispus)
  • Giant Hogweed (Heracleum Mantegazzianum)
  • Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum)
  • Spear Thistle (Cirsium vulgare)
