Advisory Disabled Persons Parking Bays
Introduction
We receive many requests for Disabled Persons Parking Bays and
in order to ensure that each one is assessed in a uniform way an
application form has been prepared.
Applicants must have a severe mobility problem, be a car
owner/driver, or live with a car owner/driver, be an orange or blue
badge holder and have no other alternative place to park the
vehicle. For applicants under 65 years of age, they must also be in
receipt of a mobility allowance.
It is not always possible to provide bays because the proposed
location could be situated on junctions, bends or where there is
restricted width of carriageway as this would compromise road
safety. Other locations where it is not possible to provide a bay
are where there are existing waiting restrictions or residents
parking zones.
