New Footway from Meadgate to Hook
The Parish Councils of Camerton and Timsbury gathered to mark
the completion of a footpath from Meagate to Hook that was recently
installed by the Design
Group on behalf of the Traffic & Road
Safety Team.
Representatives from both villages met halfway and then walked
back to Camerton Hall for a formal reception where they were
welcomed by the chairmen of Camerton Parish Council and Timbsbury
Parish Councils.
They thanked the district councillors from both parishes and
officers for their efforts, but noted that if it had not been for
the co-operation of the landowners, Mr and Mrs Bateman, the scheme
could not have been completed as they gave the land freely when
they knew it was a community scheme.
The scheme comprised of the removal and replacement of over 150m
of hedgerow to install a footpath that now runs from the edge of
the village and connects with the Community Hall. As part of the
works the highway was also resurfaced and street lighting
installed.
