Parking Permits - Advice and Information
A few rules regarding your permit that must be adhered at all
times:
Display Your Permit at All Times
Permits must always be displayed when the vehicle is parked in a
'Permit Holders Only' bay during the hours specified on the signs,
within the specified Zones. Failure to display a permit may result
in the issue of a Penalty Charge
Notice
Apply Within Plenty of Time
It is the responsibility of the Permit holder to apply for their
new permit at least two weeks before the old one expires.
Permits Are Not Transferable
Permits showing a registration number of a vehicle are not
transferable, therefore any loss of permit or change of vehicle
must be reported to Parking Services. The details in the
application are subject to verification.
Duplicate or Forged Permits
Under Section 115 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
anyone, who with intent to deceive, misuses a parking permit in any
way or who makes or possesses a duplicate or forged permit, is
guilty of a Criminal Offence. It shall also be an offence to
knowingly make a False Statement to obtain a Parking
Permit.
Parkmobile - Electronic Parking Permits
Starting 28th November 2005 a more convenient and secure
electronic parking permit (transponder card) replaces the current
paper permit. Permit holders up for renewal after this date are now
issued with an
electronic permit.
Tax and Insurance
A parking permit does not obviate the requirement to tax and
insure a motor vehicle for use on the public highway.
