Proof of Residency and Vehicle Ownership
Proof of Residency
You will need to provide one of the following:(which should
clearly state your address)
- A tenancy or mortgage agreement.
- A solicitors, building society or estate agents letter
confirming completion of house sale (new home owners must also
register for council tax).
- Current Council Tax bill.
- Pension or DSS Benefit Book.
- Bath & North East Somerset or Housing Association rent
book.
Proof of Vehicle Ownership
Any proof you provide must contain your name and current address
within the Zone.
One of the following:
- Vehicle registration document (in the case of new
residents the change of address section must be completed in
ink).
- Insurance documents showing the application as driver
and including registration number of vehicle.
- In the case of a newly acquired vehicle an official bill of
sale.
- Company Letter: Company car users must provide a typed
letter of official company notepaper confirming that they are the
keeper of the vehicle and should be signed by the company secretary
or similar officer.
- Lease of Hire Agreement.

Parkmobile - Electronic Parking Permits
Starting 28th November 2005 a more convenient and secure
electronic parking permit (transponder card) replaces the current
paper permit. Permit holders up for renewal after this date are now
issued with an
electronic permit.

Resident Parking Schemes
- There are several Residents' Parking Schemes within Bath &
North East Somerset.
- In the Bath Central Controlled Parking Zone only residents
within this zone are permitted to purchase permits.
- One permit per household may be issued, and each permit may
indicate up to two vehicle registration numbers.
- Either one of these vehicles may then be parked within any
authorised parking bay within the Central Controlled parking Zone
whilst exhibiting the parking permit.
Pay and Display
Parking within Pay and Display bays is also
permitted where indicated, but all other road restrictions apply as
usual.
Car Parks
There is free overnight parking for vehicles
bearing Central Zone Residents' Parking Permits in Charlotte
Street, Ham Gardens and Avon Street Car Parks.
