Parking and Dropped Kerbs
Parking on the road in front of a footway
crossover/dropped kerb (that serves as a vehicle access)
is illegal.
A parking space cannot be provided in front of a crossover since
this would obstruct the legal right of access to the off-street
parking space.
In Controlled Parking Zones
In Controlled
Parking Zones all accesses are marked with a yellow line. The
Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions will not allow
the Council to introduce any alternative arrangements.
Therefore any motorist, including the occupier of the property,
parking on a yellow line in front of a crossover may be issued with
a Penalty Charge
Notice.
