Yellow Lines

Since February 2003 Bath & North East Somerset Council has been responsible for the enforcement of all on-street parking, including yellow line restrictions.

Waiting restrictions apply to the whole of the highway including verges and footways  and are normally indicated by yellow lines along the edge of the carriageway.

Single Yellow Lines

Single yellow lines indicate where waiting is prohibited for periods less than the full 24-hour day.

Double Yellow Lines

Double yellow lines indicate that waiting is prohibited 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including bank holidays for at least 4 consecutive months.

No Signs on Double Yellow Lines?

Follow a review carried out by the Department of Transport, signs on lampposts which prohibit parking "at any time", no longer need to be sign plated. In view of this change, motorists are asked to remember that they are enforceable whether or not there is a time plate in the vicinity indicating no waiting "at any time".
