Car Parks - Council

There are a number of car parks throughout the district with various prices according to the length of stay.  Please refer to the appropriate section to plan your journey before leaving home. 

There are maps available in PDF online of Bath, Keynsham, Radstock and Midsomer Norton car parks in the corresponding section of the site. For help on viewing PDF Documents please refer to the Help page

Please also note that there are free car parks for public use in: Batheaston, Timsbury (Wellow), Paulton, Peasedown St John and Saltford, which we do not have maps available for. 

Pay & Display Car Parks

When using the Pay and Display car parks, please note the following:

  • You must park entirely within a bay
  • Don't overstay - leaving your car for longer than the duration of the ticket may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
  • You must always display the ticket in the windscreen or on the dashboard of your vehicle
  • Camper Van style vehicles are not permitted to park in car parks. They can however park at the Riverside Coach Park or Odd Down Park & Ride

Credit Card Facilities

Pay and Display machines in certain car parks in Bath have been replaced with new METRIC ACCENT machines which will accept payments with Credit Cards.  The machines do not accept notes or provide change.

Car Parks in Bath - Pay on Foot Advice

  • The Pay-on-Foot system operates in Avon Street and Charlotte Street car parks, replacing the former Pay and Display system.
  • The Pay-on-Foot system requires car park users to pay for their parking on return to their vehicles, and they are charged for the length of time they have been parked in the car park according to the parking charge time bands.
  • This system removes the possibility of car park users receiving a Penalty Charge Notice for failing to display a valid parking ticket or over-staying at the car park.
  • New pay stations are provided which allow for payment by coins and notes as well as debit and credit cards. The machines provide change.

Blue Badge Holders

  • Please Note: With the exception of the bays at the entrance to Charlotte Street car park  parking charges now apply to blue badge holders in ALL Pay & Display and  Pay on Foot car parks IN BATH ONLY with the exception of the Sports & Leisure Centre Car park in North Parade. 
  • The tariff boards in each car park indicate the charges that apply.
