Latest service status during strike action: 16-17 July 2008

Unison and Unite – T&G unions are taking part in industrial action across the country on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 July 2008. The dispute relates to the 2008 pay offer that has been made nationally by the local government employers.

The Council has plans in place to make sure that, as far as possible, services continue to operate. Priority is being given to essential services so that we can minimise the impact on our most vulnerable residents and to ensure that the health and safety of our communities is not compromised.

The majority of schools are open as usual. Parents and pupils will have been contacted directly by their school where disruption is anticipated. More details about the status of schools below.

Rubbish: Please do not put out rubbish for collection on either Wednesday 16 or Thursday 17 July. Those whose rubbish is normally collected on these days should place it out the same days the following week. If you have put your bins out please take them back in until next week. Trade and business collections are unaffected.
