Bath College music department has donated eight new computers to
the Bath & North East Somerset Council-run Riverside youth
music studio, as well as acoustic sound tiles for the newly
renovated sound booth.
Somerset Crimebeat, a fund for young people which supports
community safety initiatives, has also supported the project by
supplying funding to kit out the sound booth.
The Bath & North East Somerset Council-run project operates
from riverside youth centre on the London Road in Bath and is open
to young people aged 13 -19 years. Young people have the
opportunity to take part in recording, performing, and can take
courses in music software, DJing and how to operate a recording
studio.
Bath & North East Somerset Council's Cabinet Member for
Children and Young People's Services Cllr Chris Watt said: "On
behalf of the Council I would like to thank the college and
Somerset Crimebeat for supporting the Riverside studio. The Council
supports the project as better lives for young people is one of our
key priorities."
