BATH & North East Somerset Council is holding two public
meetings for local residents in Odd Down to come along and have
their say on proposals to relocate St John’s Roman Catholic Primary
School in Bath.
The meetings will take place tonight at St Philip’s C of E
Primary School in Bloomfield Rise and on Wednesday, March 2 at St
Martin’s Garden Primary School in Lympsham Green. Both meetings
start at 7pm.
The Council is working with the Governors of the school on a
scheme to bring all children on to a single site in new and more
suitable buildings. At present the school is based on two sites at
Pulteney Road and Oldfield Lane.
After looking at a selection of possible sites, Bath & North
East Somerset Council’s Executive decided on Wednesday, January 12
that extensive and detailed consultation should be carried out on
two possible sites for the new school – Odd Down Playing Fields and
land at the Odd Down Park and Ride.
Local residents have until Thursday, March 24 to make their
views known and it is anticipated that the overall outcome of the
consultation exercise will be reported back to the Executive at its
meeting on Wednesday, May 4 when it is hoped a final decision can
be made and an offer made to the school Governors for a new
site.
