A FEAST of activities for all the family has been organised by
Bath & North East Somerset Council next week at the Roman
Baths, Assembly Rooms and Victoria Art Gallery in Bath.
The fun starts on Monday, February 14 with a very special free
family fun day from 11am-4pm at the Assembly Rooms at which
visitors will be able to meet characters from Georgian Bath and
learn authentic 18th century dances with music performed by a live
string quartet.
Five actors from Past Pleasures – one of the UK’s most respected
historical interpretation companies – will be portraying characters
including Richard Tyson one of the Masters of Ceremonies who worked
at the Pump Room in Bath during Georgian times.
Other activities being held throughout the day include a
children’s mask making workshop and treasure hunt.
Refreshments – with a Valentine’s Day theme – will be on sale
throughout the day.
The Roman Baths will be holding family activities based on the
Roman invasion of Britannia from 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm every day
from Monday, February 14 to Friday, February 18.
Why did the Romans invade and when? How did they progress
through Britannia to the Battle of Camulodunum? Find out more
through playing a board game.
