1940s Tea Dance

Blitzed Rivers Street

As part of the nations remembrance of the end of the Second World War, Bath & North East Somerset Council is organising a 1940s tea dance.

Local resident are eligible to apply for tickets to the free events where bands, tea and cakes will recreate the atmosphere of the celebrations people in the area might have enjoyed sixty years ago.

Re-enactors will help to bring the event alive and Stephen Clews, Curator of the Roman Baths, said ‘We want to end the commemoration with a celebration.’

The party will take place on Sunday, August 21 at the Assembly Rooms in Bennett Street, Bath.

There are 400 places available and residents interested in attending must fill in the coupon below. Names will be selected by random ballot and the lucky people will be invited to the party.
