As part of the nations remembrance of the end of the Second
World War, Bath & North East Somerset Council is organising a
1940s tea dance.
Local resident are eligible to apply for tickets to the free
events where bands, tea and cakes will recreate the atmosphere of
the celebrations people in the area might have enjoyed sixty years
ago.
Re-enactors will help to bring the event alive and Stephen
Clews, Curator of the Roman Baths, said ‘We want to end the
commemoration with a celebration.’
The party will take place on Sunday, August 21 at the Assembly
Rooms in Bennett Street, Bath.
There are 400 places available and residents interested in
attending must fill in the coupon below. Names will be selected by
random ballot and the lucky people will be invited to the
party.
