FINDING funds to pay for new kit, equipment, training coaches
and officials or paying the bills for facility hire are constantly
high on the agenda at sports clubs meetings.
As part of its support to local sports clubs Bath & North
East Somerset Council’s Active Leisure Team is presenting an
innovative new approach to fundraising at 6.30pm on Wednesday,
April 20 at the Somer Centre in Midsomer Norton.
The ‘Fantasy Fundraising’ course is open to any sports club or
organisation in Bath & North East Somerset.
Chris Revill, Active Leisure Officer, said: “For volunteers in
sports clubs getting hold of sufficient funds is always a real
headache but there’s a whole lot more to raising funds than just
putting on a jumble sale.
“Bath & North East Somerset Council hopes that this
mini-workshop will help sports club in approaching sponsors,
promoting and marketing their clubs and raising funds.
“We are pleased to be promoting this new approach to funding
that links finding funds with promoting and marketing your club or
organisation.
“Jonathan Farnhill, from the Institute of Fundraising will
demonstrate some highly innovative and original ways that are
guaranteed to transform a club’s approach to ‘selling’ their
club.”
The session is free and clubs are invited to send up to two
people per club. To register your interest for this course
and to find out about forthcoming courses for clubs please call
