Doosport.com is a new website being piloted in Bath ahead of a national launch in 2009. It is a free to use platform for the sport, health and fitness community designed to create and promote a more healthy life style.

Two of the founders of the company, Gabby and Kenny Logan, were in Bath recently promoting the launch. "We're building a social network for sport and fitness. People can log on and get neutral advice about how to train, what to eat, where to start a sport or exercise class or they can simply ask their peers where to buy the best-value equipment," said Gabby Logan, the former gymnast turned TV presenter. "We’ve added some video coaching", said Kenny Logan, of Scottish rugby renown. "These are designed to show people how to complete exercises properly or how to improve a particular aspect of their technique. We’ve linked up with the experts at Team Bath. They’ve been fantastic partners". Make friends with the Logans on the site and you might even get some dancing tips!

The free Food and Exercise Diary is a great tool for getting your lifestyle into balance. Whether you are trying to shed a few pounds or training for the Bath Half Marathon, a few minutes on line everyday should make a big difference. Record the food and drink you have as well as the exercise you do and the site will indicate to what extent you are in balance depending on your age, sex and the type of job you do. It’s amazing what extra exercise it takes to burn off the calories in a biscuit!

The group networking functionality is a very powerful tool for anyone that manages a club or team, is organising an ad-hoc event or else coaches or teaches a sport. No one has as much time as they think they do and this tool make communicating with and organising groups very much more efficient and hopefully more fun. Click here for more information.

The venue networking functionality should appeal to anyone that manages any sort of sports or fitness facility. It can give you your own branded site within Doosport and the opportunity to personalise it with your own logos, photos and text. Use it as an extension of your existing marketing efforts with the added bonus that you can have two way on-line communications with your customers. Click here for more information.

"Bath is such a sports-mad city that we thought it was a great place to launch. The staff and athletes based at the University of Bath have created some top-class video resources and the students are beginning to use the site to organise their own sport and recreational activities. B&NES Council and in particular the team behind the Get Active scheme have also been very supportive. Register and help us make this site an unbeatable resource”, said Johann Gulotti, the Bath based Managing Director of the company.
