CHEW VALLEY - CHARITY WALK

Keep fit and help outImprove your fitness levels while supporting rural projects in Nepal and Ghana. The lake-to-lake Chew Valley Charity Walk, 13th June, is in aid of Help Rural Nepal and the Atiamah Trust. Walks range from 3-10 miles, starting and finishing in Chew Magna and taking in sweeping views of the Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes. The Sound of Summer, Outdoor music is one of the great joys of summer weather. Keynsham Music Festival, 4th July, features a wealth of talented new music. Family activities, including writing and music workshops, and film screenings can also be enjoyed. Jazz and blues are on offer at Green Park Station 18th July at the Cooler festival and American music, including big jazz, gospel, and bluegrass can be enjoyed on selected weekend afternoons at The American Museum.

Party in the Park 2010 Peasedown St John will be hosting their second annual village festival on 17th July at Beacon Field and Hall, from noon to 8pm. The event, which raises funds for charity, promises to be a day of fun for the whole community. Festivities will include live music, hot food, traditional fete stalls and fun family games, such as ‘gladiator’ duelling and ‘sumo’ wrestling.
