BATH DANCE FORUM

Bath Dance Forum is a not-for profit group of contemporary dance artists, teachers and choreographers from across B&NES eager to continuously re-energise their practice and exchange fresh ideas to enrich their teaching, performance and choreographic work.

What BDF does

  • We provide regular professional development classes and an adult beginner’s class.

  • We encourage and support existing and emerging dance artists by providing networking, artistic partnership and collaboration opportunities

  • We provide advice on teaching and general information about dance opportunities in the region.

  • We create opportunities for perfomance in local venues, including SHIFT our annual showcase as part of the Bath Fringe Festival.

  • We lobby on behalf of the dance constituency for the support of local dance activity

  • We contribute to the development of local dance development strategies.

Classes

Advanced Contemporary Technique classes

When: every Wednesday (except during school holidays and during choreographic development periods) from 6.30-8pm

Where: St Gregory Catholic College, Combe Hay Lane, Odd Down, Bath BA2 8PA

Teachers: High quality professional teachers working locally and regionally. We believe dancers’ practice and experience can greatly benefit from exploring different contemporary dance styles and techniques. We therefore organise a rotating programme of teachers who led 4 sessions each. Ever month we welcome a new guest teacher.

For whom: Classes are open to dance artists, teachers and choreographers as well as dance students and graduates who want to develop their dance technique and choreographic skills. We also offer opportunities for performances.

Price: £5 per session
