Anybody who is unable to get to their local branch or mobile
library is able to use the service. A member of library staff
makes an initial visit to find out the reader’s interests and to do
an informal risk assessment. The member of staff and a
volunteer then do a joint visit. If this is successful
then further visits are arranged directly between the reader and
the volunteer.
Yes. The service is free to for readers. Books and
most other items may be borrowed for up to 6 weeks. Videos and DVDs

recovering from an illness, for example, or it can be on a long
term basis where the circumstances are unlikely to change.
