Prize draw terms and conditions

Visitor Campaign Logo

These are the terms and conditions of the Library Visitor Campaign prize draws:

  • All entrants who complete a valid Visitor Card may enter our monthly prize draws and main prize draw, to which these terms and conditions apply.
  • The prize draws are open to valid Library members of the LibrariesWest Consortium (covering council run libraries in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset), except those members who are employees of Bath & North East Somerset Council, any companies connected with the prize draws, or any member of their households
  • We will randomly select and notify the winner/s by using the contact details stated on the winning Visitor Card within 10 working days of the date of the selection of the winner/s.
  • Unless stated otherwise, entrants must complete a valid Vistor Card which includes 6 visitor stamps, their name, Library Membership Number and preferred contact details to enter the prize draws. Completed Visitor Cards must be posted in the Visitor Campaign deposit boxes available in all Bath & North East Somerset Council Libraries no later than the relevant closing date
  • The closing date for entry into the monthly prize draw will be the 17th day of each month, starting in April 2008.  It is the entrant’s responsibility to check the opening times of individual library locations.
  • Entrants may complete and enter as many Visitor Cards as they wish into each monthly prize draw
  • All valid Vistor Cards received between 17th March & 17th September 2008 will automatically be entered into the main prize draw.
  • We will pick winner/s at random on the last day of the month, (or the next working day). Entrants who are no longer valid Library members on the date of the draw will not be eligible.
  • Once notified by us, the winner/s will need to contact us to arrange collection/delivery of the prize.
  • If a  winner does not contact us within 20 working days of being told they have won, we may pick an alternative winner
  • We will make two attempts to arrange a collection date/deliver a prize. After that, the winner will need to make their own arrangements for collection/delivery.
  • Where necessary, winners’ names and addresses will be passed on to the company offering the prize (the prize-giver) so they can send the prize to the winner. We will not pass winners’ or entrants’ contact details to any other third party.
  • All prize-givers will be instructed not to use a winner’s name and contact details for any communication or purpose not connected with delivering their prize.
  • Entrants accept that if they win, we will have the right, without additional permission, to use their name and the location of their residence for the purposes of announcing the winner/s of the prize draws in our libraries, on our website and in our Inform email newsletter.
  • We will post a list of the past month’s winners on request to anyone who writes to us within one month after the closing date, enclosing a stamped addressed envelope, requesting details of the winning entries
  • Prizes are offered as stated and are non-exchangeable or transferable. No cash alternatives will be provided.
  • Unless stated, winners are responsible for any travel or other expenses they make in collecting and using their prize.
  • When we send out prizes, we will post them using Royal Mail second class post. We will not be held responsible for prizes that do not arrive, or are damaged in transit, whether sent by us or the prize-giver.
  • If a prize is only open to people aged 18 or over we will require the winner/s to prove that they meet this requirement before the prize is despatched.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or suspend any prize draw at any point, without liability to the prize-givers, winners or entrants.
  • Bath & North East Somerset Council are not responsible for the quality or working condition of any prize.  This must be taken up with the prize-giver and/or will be coverd by a manufacturers guarantee where appropriate.
  • Our decision is final on all matters and we will not enter into any further correspondence.
  • By completing and entering a Vistor Card, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions .
