Employment and Training Initiatives
Provided by Bath Training Services
Training Services are able to offer a wide range of training and
development opportunities to individuals. We have years of
experience in helping young people progress from
school or college to the world of work. We also help the
wider community improve their skills and gain qualifications.
Entry to Employment
This is a training programme for young people aged 16
to 18 who are not yet ready or able to start apprenticeship
programmes, further education or employment. Young people are
helped to prepare for employment, employment with training,
apprenticeships or futher education. The length of time
learners stay on this programme will depend on how much help they
need before they are ready to move on.
Apprenticeships
This is a supportive programme for young people aged
between 16 and 24 who are ready for work and who want to
start a career or are working in business and administration,
information technology, customer services or sport and
recreation. We work with local employers who provide
opportunities for young people to learn the appropriate skills,
gain experience and achieve the apprenticeship qualification.
Employers may provide a work placement for the duration of the
apprenticeship or they may offer full employment. Employers
may also offer exisiting staff the opportunity to complete an
apprenticeship.
Learndirect
As well as working with young people, we have a Learndirect
centre which provides online learning for members of the community
who wish to gain skills and qualifications. These include
literacy, numeracy and information technology. We are also
able to offer National Vocational Qualifications in information
technology or customer service to employed learners.
