Joint Older People's Strategy
Bath and North East Somerset Social and Housing Services Bath
and North East Somerset Primary Care Trust
This document sets out the vision and direction of older
people’s community services for the next three years. The emphasis
is firmly on promoting independence and offering real choice in
service provision. The strategy provides the blueprint for the way
in which Social Services and the PCT will work together to
transform the model of social care in the Bath and North East
Somerset area. It also outlines the wider objectives for promoting
health and well being which will involve a broad range of partners.
The strategy is already driving an action plan to deliver the
improvements, new developments and new ways of working.
The Older People’s Strategy has evolved following feedback and
consultation with older people, service users, staff, carers,
voluntary organisations, service providers and other key partners.
It has been endorsed by the Council’s Executive Member for Social
Services and the Board of the PCT.
