Training Programme for Oct 2008 to March 2009
For Independent and Voluntary Providers of Social Care in Bath
& North East Somerset
We are pleased to present the latest copy of our Training
Programme which covers the period October 2008 – March 2009. Please
make sure that all staff in your area are made aware of how to
access the Programme and given every opportunity to discuss the
content with you.
The Training Programme is produced some months in advance but we
are able to react to new initiatives and changes in legislation
which may require a quick response. Consequently, as we go
through the next 6 months, there will be additional workshops which
will be advertised by email. If you have an e-mail
address that we may use to contact you about additional training
courses please let us know.
We have continued with the subscription to the SCILS database as
responses have so far been very positive. If you have not yet
taken the opportunity to visit this learning resource website, you
can do so by accessing the website at http://www.scils.co.uk/ or
http://www.eils.co.uk/.
You will need to create a user account with our registration
number – 249BNES – after which you can start accessing the
resources.
We are committed to supporting the training needs of the
independent and voluntary sector and recognise that funding maybe
scarce. Consequently we will no longer be charging for attendance
on any of our courses. The only charge we will make will be
to recoup the cost we incur for candidates who undertake their NVQ
with our Assessment Centre, details on page 73 of the
programme.
We aim to support staff to meet the requirements of changing
roles as well as providing opportunities to consolidate existing
skills and knowledge. Please contact us to discuss any
additional learning and development which we may be able to provide
to support you and your team.
