AIM OF COURSE: To enable a good understanding of the practical skills related to Venepuncture and Cannulation.

TARGET GROUP: Open to qualified nursing staff, who require both Venepuncture and Cannulation as part of their role.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course participants will:

• Have an increased understanding of the anatomy and physiology to ensure safe practice
• Have an understanding of the indications and contra-indications of Venepuncture
• Have had an opportunity to demonstrate safe practical skills of Venepuncture
• Have an understanding of professional and legal accountability around consent and record keeping
