AIM OF COURSE: To enable a good understanding
of the practical skills related to Venepuncture and
Cannulation.
TARGET GROUP: Open to qualified nursing staff,
who require both Venepuncture and Cannulation as part of their
role.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course
participants will:
- Have an increased understanding of the anatomy and physiology
to ensure safe practice
- Have an understanding of the indications and contra-indications
of Venepuncture
- Have had an opportunity to demonstrate safe practical skills of
Venepuncture
- Have an understanding of professional and legal accountability
around consent and record keeping
