Dial-a-ride in Midsomer Norton and Radstock

Bath & North East Somerset Council, the Countryside Agency and the Rural Transport Partnership hope to be working together soon to provide a door-to-door transport service in the Midsomer Norton area aimed at helping those who cannot use conventional public transport.

The Dial-a Ride scheme will be based on the success of a similar scheme in Keynsham started in April this year.

The community Dial-a-ride service in Midsomer Norton will operate on similar lines to the service in Keynsham.  A fully accessible minibus provides door-to-door transport for members of the community who cannot access conventional public transport.  Potential users have to register in advance with the service and can then book transport the day before the trip is needed.  Full details of how to register will be publicised before the service starts.

All on board the 782 from Tyning to Paulton:

The popular 782 bus service, which runs between Tyning and Paulton via Radstock, Westfield, and Midsomer Norton has recently taken delivery of a new low-floor bus which will make access for passengers much easier.

The service is financially supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council and has been run on behalf of the council by local bus operator Somerbus for over four years.

“The low floor offers easy access and will make it so much easier for anyone with impaired mobility. Older people, parents with buggies and anyone carrying heavy loads will all find it much easier to get on board.”

For more information on the 782 service please call 01225 477615
