Enabling disabled people to develop in sport. ASA supports several clubs and training sessions in the South West.  

A voluntary organisation run by disabled people who want to bring about positive changes to access in Bath.  The group meet once a month to discuss issues about access such as parking, the siting of accessible toilets, and proposed building and town planning developments.

The train has a fully accessible carriage for disabled people.  You can contact the railway for more information.

Home Library Service in Bath

Books on Wheels is a free library service available to people in Bath who cannot get to their local library.  Story cassettes and CDs, music CDs, jigsaw puzzles and large print books can all be delivered to your door.  Individually assigned volunteers choose material at Bath Central Library and then deliver them to your door.  To ensure the safety of readers, all volunteers are referenced before visiting readers.  The volunteer agrees with the reader how often they would like to be visited and how many items to bring.  If you are housebound and have no-one who can visit the library on your behalf, you could be eligible for Books on Wheels

The Bristol and District Chess League has 21 clubs in Bristol and the surrounding areas, including Bath.  Clubs provide all levels of chess playing, including competitive chess and friendly games at fast or slow time limits and using rules for disabled members when necessary.  The local clubs have some disabled members who take an active part in all aspects of club activities.

Charity providing activity holiday opportunities for disabled people, family and friends.                                            

Provides information on voluntary and statutory services for older people, disabled people, including mental health problems and learning difficulties, carers, people with HIV/AIDS, people with drug/alcohol problems.

Researches and updates local, regional and national databases of services for disabled people services available to other organisations to use the database.

The trust has an objective to assist disabled people and/or their carers to take holidays, respite care and recuperation breaks by providing additional top up funding to that contributed by the applicant.  It can also assist in the funding for carers or provide help so that carers can have a holiday and thereby have a break from their caring role.  The trust only assists those who are resident in the B&NES catchment area

The Little Theatre has two screens, Screen One is accessible for wheelchairs and the wheelchair user has the option of staying in the chair or the transferring to a theatre seat.  Companions can sit with you.  You are asked to contact the theatre in advance so that there can be someone to help if necessary.
