'BOOKS ON PRESCRIPTION'
The Library Services are working with local doctors and mental
health professionals to offer a “Book Prescription Scheme” to
people who want to use self-help. These professionals have
compiled a list of recommended self-help books which have been
bought by the libraries.
A prescription for a book will be issued to you by your health
professional and can be exchanged at the library. The scheme
currently operates in Bath Central Library, and from 5th June 2007
in Midsomer Norton and Keynsham libraries.

on mental health issues are distributed via psychiatric hospital
facilities, community resource centres and multi agency centres
around the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area. Pamphlets are
also provided free to service users from our administration
office. The pamphlets are produced by National Mind, on issues
such as eating distress, panic attacks, how to help someone who
is feeling suicidal, anxiety and how to deal with worries about
your sexuality. |
