Terrence Higgins Trust Direct Helpline can give you HIV information, advice and support over the phone.  Open 10 am – 1.00 pm Monday – Friday and 12 noon – 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tel: 0845 1221 200.

THT Direct Helpline is a gateway to HIV services, support and information.  This national telephone service was created by the merger of the THT Direct pilot London service with THT’s national Helpline and opened in September 2002.

Direct Helpline aims to improve access to HIV services, information and support by providing a main point of contact into the organisation, staffed by a team who can respond to all enquiries and provide clear, accurate, current and comprehensive signposting, referral, information, support and advice.

Direct Helpline provide service information, giving generalist advice, answering frequently asked questions about HIV and offering emotional support to people who want to talk through any issues or questions they might have about HIV; whether they are infected, affected or concerned. 

HIV Clinic at the centre for Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) 

The clinic provides an HIV testing service, with pre- and post-test counselling and with results within one week. There are Health Advisors who offer advice on sexual health and treatment. Gay Men’s Team

The project provides support, safer sex information, and advocacy for gay men of all ages in the Bath area.Tel. 0117 955 1000 for an appointment

The Harbour

30 Frogmore Street, Bristol, BS1 5NA

A specialist counselling and psychotherapy service for people living with AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. This includes people who are close to someone with a life-threatening condition, and people who have recently been bereaved.

The Living Room 

A small voluntary organisation concerned with improving Respite and Hospice care for those affected by HIV and AIDS. Can provide small grants to enable people to take the respite break that they choose.
