We aim to help people to live as independently as possible and
are able to provide help with essential daily tasks to people
within their own homes, where they are unable to manage safely
themselves
The Council’s in-house service provides a service to about 50%
of the people who receive home care in Bath. The other 50%
are served by one of a number of registered care providers with
whom the Council has a contract to provide services on its
behalf.
If you do not receive a home care service at the moment, but
would like to, you will first need to ask for an assessment of your
needs from the Social Services Adult Care Team. If eligible,
you may be allocated to either the Council’s Home Care service or
an independent provider. The same quality standards and
safeguards apply to all providers.
To ask for an assessment of your needs, please contact the
Adult
Duty Team on 01225 477000. For further detail about
assessments and eligibility for services, please
read A Handy Guide To Community Care.
