Community Day Service Team
Welcome
Who Are We?
The Comunity Day Services Team is part of the Adult Disability
Services Team based at Carrswood Resource and Activity Centre in
Twerton, Bath.
What Do We Do?
Support Disabled people to access daytime activities in their
local communities. For example, work (paid/voluntary), attend
college, sports/leisure activities. The CDS team can assist people
with any disability to find the support they may need to do
this.
How Can I Contact The Team?
The service is for people who have been assessed by a social
worker as needing day care. Your social worker needs to contact the
Adult Disability Team Manager who will pass on your details to
us.
If you do not have a social worker, you can contact us direct
and we will discuss the best way to proceed.
If you already attend a day centre but would like to do
something else as well or instead, you can contact us
yourself.
What Will Happen?
A member of our team will come and talk to you about the things
you would like to do. We will help you find suitable activities and
look at any problems that may arise. If you would like it, we can
offer you support to help you settle in to your chosen
activity.
Is It Possible?
We are also working to establish schemes to give disabled people
a wider choice of activity, particularly in the field of
work.
What If I Am Dissatisfied?
Our aim is for everyone who uses our service to be treated with
respect and understanding, and to feel that every effort has been
made to help them achieve their goals. We understand that sometimes
people may feel dissatisfied with the service they receive. If this
should happen, you can make a complaint by contacting the Adult
Disability Team Manager at The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer
Norton, BA2 3DP.
