Community Transport

How to Get Involved

This page provides information for people wishing to get involved in community transport.

Joining a scheme

If you want to become part of one of these schemes by volunteering your time and/or driving for them then please contact the groups directly.

If you are unsure which group to approach or there is no group in your area please contact our community transport officer via the details given at the bottom of this page.

Initiating a new scheme

If you are interested in setting up a community transport scheme in your area contact your Parish Council with a view to assessing whether there is demand for such a service in your local area.

The Council's Role

Once ideas have been discussed in the local community and people have come forward to volunteer their time in helping run a new scheme, proposals can be put forward to the Council.

The Council will offer guidance and funding subject to meeting funding criteria and budgetary limitations.

Contact details for this Council can be found at the bottom of this page.
