Figure 4. Child protection reviews 

Percentage of children on the register at 31 March who had been on the register continuously for 3+ months reviewed every six months during the preceding 12 months (or within 3 months of being placed on the register if there was no review in the previous year) and whose last review was held within 6 months of the end of the year

Time on the register

The time children spend on the register is monitored in two ways:

• Children on register who had been registered for 2 or more years
• Children de-registered who had been registered for 2 or more years

At 31 March 2008  7 (11%) of the 63 children on the register had been registered for 2+ years which was the average figure for the past 4 years, see figure 5.

For children deregistered who had been registered for 2+ years, the proportion was 8%, which matched the average for the last 3 years, see figure 6.
