2. To ensure
that all staff serving children in public, private, voluntary,

safeguarding awareness to play their part in protecting children
from the risk of significant harm. Provide strategic
direction and ensure funding for this training. |

with appropriate knowledge and skills to safeguard children
relevant to their role with children in the services they
deliver. |

3. To fully
inform the public in Bath and North East Somerset of their role in
safeguarding children, and actions they should take to safeguard a

4. To audit
individual children’s services for the quality of their
safeguarding practices and the inter-agency safeguarding systems,

5. To be able to
identify those children and young people who are most vulnerable
and provide services to make a difference to their safety and
welfare, specifically targeting:
- Children suffering from, or at risk of neglect.
- Children/young people subject to custodial sentences
- Children and young people in care.
- Children and young people who are in geographical areas of
deprivation.

6. To give
priority to significantly reducing the number of children and young
people who suffer accidental injuries or death, by promoting injury

7. To continue
to develop and promote the Childsafe programme: Travelsafe: and the
Keepsafe Service and thereby promote safe care. |

that the LSCB contributes effectively to the Children and Young
People’s Plan, and secures the safeguarding dimension in the
planned delivery of services by influencing other strategic
