Primary Objectives 2008-2011

These are our primary objectives; they are fundamental to the success of the LSCB.

The Work Plan shows how we intend to achieve our primary objectives.  It identifies actions, timescales and required outcomes.  The LSCB will receive reports and review progress.  The Strategic Plan is seen as dynamic and will require updates and additions.

Objectives

• To identify those children and young people who are most vulnerable and to provide services to make a difference to their safety and welfare.
• To significantly reduce the number of children and young people suffering from neglect and those who suffer accidental injuries .
• To maintain, review and update local inter-agency child protection guidelines and procedures for intervention to safeguard and protect children.
• To audit and evaluate how well local services work together to safeguard children.
• To encourage and help develop effective working relationships between different services and professional groups, parents, carers and young people based on trust and mutual understanding.
